The name "Raminten" was derived from a role played by Hamzah Sulaiman in a sitcom on a local television station (Jogja TV). 

He portrayed a Javanese woman, complete with traditional Javanese attire: a kebaya, a batik sarong, and a bun. 

It was from this role that he began to be known as Raminten, a name that has become synonymous with him today.
